Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Safely Removes Larger And Deeper Veins Without Invasive Surgery

Ambulatory Phlebectomy is a relatively new procedure that eliminates the need for invasive surgery or a hospital stay. Also known as micro-incisional removal, Ambulatory Phlebectomy involves the making of small punctures along the path of the damaged vein through which a specially-designed instrument grasps and extracts the vein.

The incisions are very small (typically 2-3 millimeters) to minimize scarring. Often, incision marks can be undetectable after a few weeks.  The procedure is done in our offices, and local anesthesia is used.

Typically, Ambulatory Phlebectomy takes one to two hours and the patient can resume normal activities immediately. The procedure is 100% effective and there are very few side effects.
